Each child has an Individual Learning Plan that reflects their interests, strengths and developmental goals, with educators and families working together to review and update it over time. ‘No Jab No Play’ is the Victorian Government legislation requiring all children to be fully immunised before enrolling in any childcare or kindergarten in Victoria. Our long day care program operates from our Children and Family Centres.
We have an annual calendar of events inviting families to participate in various celebrations. Families are welcome throughout the year, and we offer parent-educator meetings on request. We also provide a local community board and external services as needed. Our experienced team includes three Early Childhood Teachers, creating a supportive environment that nurtures each child’s development. Our centre, it’s educators and the outside community is proud of the inclusive curriculum provided to support families and children with additional needs.

We extend our learning programs beyond the classroom with an exciting events calendar, offering a variety of excursions, incursions and cultural celebrations throughout the year. Alongside our purpose-built facilities, we provide fresh, nutritious meals every day, prepared by our talented on-site cook, who caters to all dietary requirements. Our vacation care program offers a dynamic range of activities specifically designed to cater to the interests and developmental stages of children aged 4 to 12 years.
We foster a learning environment that celebrates diversity, embraces differences, and builds a culture of kindness, empathy, and inclusion. From day one, each child is supported by a Key Educator, helping them develop a secure and trusting relationship, which supports their sense of belonging and emotional well-being. We value our strong partnerships with families, recognising that families are a child’s first and most important teachers. Our open-door policy encourages families to share in their child’s experiences and contribute to our programs with their skills, culture, and creativity.

Children learn best when familiar and secure in their relationships, therefore, to establish the child’s trust and confidence, we encourage all families to visit our service and participate in orientation. Silverwood Child Care Centre provides a warm and inviting atmosphere for children to explore, interact, learn and most of all, develop and encourage their own individual personalities. Our children, families and staff are culturally and linguistically diverse and we work with our families to ensure the cultures of children and their families are recognised within our programs. Our education program includes acknowledging Country and teaching children about First Nations culture, people and history. Our learning programs help children be creative and confident thinkers, build confidence, self-reliance and resourcefulness, and develop problem solving skills.
Our curriculum, which is a balance of child led and adult intentional teaching, offers children the opportunity to participate in active learning, whilst having the support and challenge they need from Educators. Since Nido Early School is a government approved childcare provider, if you're eligible for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) you can receive a government contribution towards reducing your out-of-pocket fees. We provide a long day care (childcare) program for children between birth to 6 years at our Children and Family Centres.
